China’s March bitumen import rebounds 30% as large cargoes arrived from South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Middle East.
During the period January to March 2021, China imported 825090 MT of Bitumen. The country imported 350693 MT of Bitumen in January, 206565 MT in February and 267832 MT in March 2021. During the period Jan to March 2020, China imported 1093154 MT of Bitumen. As per the data analysis by our team, import of the country has gone down by 25% during Jan to March 2021, as compared to the same period last year i.e. Jan to March 2020. Compared to last month i.e. February 2021, import of the country has increased by 30% in the month of March 2021. China import has gone down by 37% in March 2021, as compared to the same period last year i.e. March 2020.
• India
During the period January to March 2021, India imported 1.03 million MT of Bitumen. The country imported 362407 MT of bitumen in January 2021, 292364 MT in April and 376757 MT in March 2021. During the period January to March 2020, India imported 865966 MT of Bitumen. As per the data analysis by our team, import of the country has increased by 19% during Jan to March 2021, as compared to the same period last year i.e. Jan to March 2020. Bitumen import of India has gone up by 29% in March 2021, as compared to last month i.e. February 2021. India’s Bitumen import has increased by 38% in March 2021, as compared to same period last year i.e. March 2020.
• South korea
During the period January to March 2021, South Korea exported 653938 MT of Bitumen. South Korea exported 237003 MT of Bitumen in January 2021, 238351 MT in February and 178584 MT in March 2021. During the period Jan to March 2020, South Korea exported 872078 MT of Bitumen. As per the data analysis by our team, export of the country has gone down by 25% during January to March 2021, as compared to the same period last year i.e. January to March 2020. Compared to last month i.e. February 2021, South Korea Bitumen export has decreased by 25% in the month of March 2021. South Korea export has gone down by 42% in March 2021, as compared to same period last year i.e. March 2020.
• UAE
During the period January to March 2021, India imported 419167 MT of Bitumen from UAE. The country imported 150985 MT of bitumen in January, 111354 MT in February and 156827 MT in March 2021. During the period January to March 2020, India imported 244445 MT of Bitumen from UAE. As per the data analysis by our team, import of the country has increased by 71% during Jan to March 2021, as compared to the same period last year i.e. Jan to March 2020. Bitumen import from UAE has gone up by 40% in March 2021, as compared to last month i.e. February 2021. Bitumen import from UAE has increase by 94% in March 2021, as compared to same period last year i.e. March 2020.
• Middle east
Middle East bitumen export to China firms up as Iraq, UAE, Iran, Bahrain and Oman shipped 230,000 tons in 2020. Last year the Middle east shipped around 230,000 tons of Bitumen to China. While China imports most of it’s bitumen from South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, in recent months imports from the Middle East have firmed up. Iraq exported 158,000 tons of bitumen to China last year, UAE exported 51,000 tons, Iran exported 10,000 tons, Bahrain exported 12,000 tons and Oman exported small quantities to China as well.
